Joan Furber and Luana Bussieres joined the meeting at 1:21 p.m.
Darline Reid, Area Manager, Seniors Health, Alberta Health Services, provided an update, stating the expected date for residents to move in is May 2021.
It was agreed that the Committee would assist in coordinating tours for seniors and that Willow Square may be able to host an open house before the doors open to residents.
Councillor, Keith McGrath, joined the meeting at 1:27 p.m.
Discussion occurred with respect to the on the inclusion of Indigenous art features, Treaty 8 and Metis land recognition and naming recognition for the seniors/elders that were instrumental in the conception of Willow Square. Darline Reid confirmed that there is government signage that recognizes Treaty 8 and Metis territory, and art work that recognizes the overall culture of the region.
Action Item:
Administration to liaise with Darline Reid on obtaining information on a naming recognition process.
