Christopher Whelan gave a presentation on behalf of the Regional Inclusive Committee (RIC) with an overview of some of the current initiatives undertaken as well as a request to collaborate with the Regional Advisory Committee on Inclusion, Diversity and Equality on matters of accessibility.
Administration noted that there is cross-over between Committees as the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo lends support to the Regional Inclusive Committee by way of employee liaisons for both the Advisory Committee on Aging and the Regional Advisory Committee on Inclusion, Diversity, and Equality. The Committee has requested that Administration undertake a review of the membership and mandate of the Regional Advisory Committee on Inclusion, Diversity and Equality, taking into consideration the mandates and memberships of other Committees in the community such as the Regional Inclusion Committee and the Advisory Committee on Aging.
It was confirmed by Administration that this review and information would be brought forward to the Committee in September.
